Honest expectations

What training really takes.

Time

The FAA minimum is 40 hours; most students take more. Flying often is the biggest factor, and weather or maintenance will sometimes move a lesson. Realistic timelines

Cost

Training starts with a $1,000 credited deposit, then aircraft and instruction as used. No club joining fee or monthly dues are required. Aircraft wet rates include fuel; instruction is separate. Build your own estimate
