About A4Flight Academy

A4Flight Academy is the club we wanted to fly in. We built it around a small, well-equipped fleet, published rates that do not move between the website and the invoice, instructors who work for themselves, and a member experience that is 100% online.

Principles

How we operate.

One source of truth

Rates, aircraft status and availability come from a single record. The public site and the member portal read the same data.

Billing handled end to end

The club invoices aircraft time, instruction and dues on one statement, then pays instructors directly. No separate CFI invoices.

Small fleet, high standards

Three aircraft, maintained on a managed schedule, with grounding decisions made on data rather than convenience.

Everything online

Applications, signatures, scheduling, dispatch, training records, logbooks and invoices all live in the member portal — on your phone at the aircraft.

Our journey

How we got here.

Snake-infested hangar. Old, crappy airplanes. Enough was enough. We built the school we wanted. Here's the whole thing in pictures. Click any photo to zoom in.

Chapter 01

Where it started

Round gauges. Well-worn rentals. A route plan propped against the windshield and a hangar the snakes got to first. We flew them anyway — then one morning we said enough.

Chapter 02

The first one with our name on it

Then we stopped renting and started owning. Stick and rudder, a Jabiru with our name on it, and the first time the airplane was actually ours.

Chapter 03

The Cirrus era

Glass panels. Autopilots. Real cross-country range. The Cirrus SR20s changed what an ordinary Tuesday could look like.

Chapter 04

Cross-countries and glass

Once the glass was in, we started going further — down the coast, over the water, panels full of numbers and the engine watched every mile.

Chapter 05

The people

The airplanes are the easy part to photograph. Ask members what they actually remember and it isn't the aircraft — it's the people standing next to them.

Chapter 06

Today

Two Cirrus SR20s, a Jabiru J170, hangar space at Denton Enterprise, and a portal that runs the whole operation — booking, dispatch, billing, training. Some of us still plan on paper.

Modern cockpit, modern tools

This is where the story gets good — the next chapters get written by members.

100% modern

The whole club runs online.

No clipboards on the counter, no phone-tag for a Saturday morning, no separate CFI invoice. From your application to your last logbook entry, the member experience is one system you can run from a phone on the ramp.

  1. 01

    Apply online

Submit the membership application from any device. We run an identity and FAA registry review, then confirm your decision by email — no paperwork mailed back and forth.

  2. 02

    Sign once

One digital signature covers every agreement your role needs. Each document is stored with its version, date and the exact text you accepted.

  3. 03

    Book by the hour

Reserve aircraft and instructors on one grid. Subscribe to the calendar feed and every reservation lands in Google, Apple or Outlook with the full briefing.

  4. 04

    Dispatch and check in

Squawk checks, fuel and Hobbs on a digital dispatch sheet, then a guided post-flight check-in with photos, cleaning confirmation and squawk reporting.

  5. 05

    Train

Part 61 syllabi, digital worksheets graded by your CFI, stage checks and a live FAA experience audit against the rating you are working toward.

  6. 06

    Log

Photograph or upload your paper logbook and every entry is transcribed for review, then merged into your running totals and currency.

  7. 07

    Pay

One usage-based invoice covers aircraft time, instruction and dues. Pay by card or authorize autopay with your own per-invoice limit.

Step 4 — click any tail number for Hobbs, inspection countdowns, equipment, weight and balance, logbooks and POH.

Flight Academy

Step 5 — the A4-02 Training Course Outline as living syllabi, with worksheets that unlock as each flight is graded and signed.

Your dashboard

Step 6 — currency, experience totals, upcoming reservations and KDTO weather in one place, updated as you fly.

Documents and compliance

Step 7 — your credential vault: medical and flight review expiry tracking, plus countersigned agreements you can print or email yourself.

Installs like an app

The portal runs in any browser and installs to your phone's home screen — no app store, no separate login.

Live aircraft status

Hobbs, squawks and inspection countdowns come from the same record dispatch and maintenance work from.

One invoice, one login

Aircraft time, instruction and dues on a single statement. You never settle up separately with your instructor.
